In collaboration with Common Ground we are hosting a screening of the animated film 'La Traversée / The Crossing' (2021) honouring Human Rights Day and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This multi-award-winning work by Florence Miailhe was the first feature-length animation created with the technique of oil painting on glass. It has been screened at film festivals around the world. Story:
The main character, Kyona, narrates the story as her village is plundered and her family is forced to flee. Kyona and her brother Adriel soon become separated from their parents, and face the road of exile alone. Their heroic journey takes them from childhood to adolescence in search of shelter, peace and freedom.
