Echo Wants Her Voice Back returns to Sarah’s Jazz Club for an intimate duo set with jazz guitarist and composer Alexis Kasinos: reworked classics, blues-inflected covers and original folk-noir songs of fate, longing and emotional survival.

Echo Wants Her Voice Back is the folk-noir project of Cypriot-born, London-based singer-songwriter, actor and writer Eleni Skarpari. Blending blues rock, acoustic storytelling and literary influences, Echo’s songs move between confession and myth, intimacy and drama — darkly romantic, cinematic and unmistakably her own.

Known for her distinctive voice and powerful stage presence, she has been compared to artists such as Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Björk and Lorde, and has performed at SXSW, for BBC Radio, and at Marlborough House in London, where she represented Cyprus at the Commonwealth Day reception.

Her work includes the EPs Heart of Stone and Bad, the BBC Introducing-featured “Mermaids,” the film track “Your Reality,” and the recent single “Crimson Sun.”

Alexis Kasinos is a jazz guitarist and composer based in Cyprus. He holds a BMus and MMus in jazz guitar from Codarts Conservatory and Amsterdam Conservatory, and has studied with leading jazz figures including Peter Bernstein, Jesse Van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson, Reinier Baas and Gilad Hekselman.

He has performed across a wide range of ensembles, from trios to big bands, and has appeared at festivals including Windcraft Festival, Paradise Jazz Festival, Jazz & World Music Showcase and Fengaros Festival. His second release as a bandleader, Parallel Paths, showcases his evolution as both a composer and improviser within the contemporary jazz idiom.
