Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά σας προσκαλούμε στην παρουσίαση της έκδοσης Decennial: A Creative Legacy, η οποία θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Παρασκευή 27 Μαρτίου 2026, στις 19:30, με αφορμή την εκδοτική καταγραφή της δεκαετούς δραστηριότητας της Art Seen (2015–2025).

Η εκδήλωση θα περιλαμβάνει συζήτηση με τη συμμετοχή των: Έφης Κυπριανίδου, Επίκουρης Καθηγήτριας Αισθητικής, Φιλοσοφίας και Θεωρίας της Τέχνης στο Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, Βίκυς Περικλέους, εικαστικού και Επίκουρης Καθηγήτριας στο Τμήμα Καλών Τεχνών του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, Νίκου Φιλίππου, φωτογράφου και Επικεφαλής του Τμήματος Επικοινωνίας του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας, Μαριλένας Ζακχαίου, ποιήτριας και Ειδικής Επιστήμονος του Τμήματος Αγγλικών Σπουδών στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, και Μαρίας Στάθη, ιδρύτριας και διευθύντριας της Art Seen. 

Το Decennial: A Creative Legacy αποτελεί μια έκδοση 304 σελίδων που χαρτογραφεί την επιμελητική πορεία της γκαλερί μέσα από 39 ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις, παρουσιάζοντας σχεδόν 100 σύγχρονους καλλιτέχνες κατά την τελευταία δεκαετία. Για κάθε έκθεση, ένα ευρύ φάσμα πολιτισμικών παραγωγών —ιστορικοί τέχνης, συγγραφείς, επιμελητές και καλλιτέχνες— συνέβαλαν με ειδικά ανατεθειμένα κείμενα, συγκροτώντας συλλογικά ένα σημαντικό σώμα κριτικού λόγου, τόσο στο τοπικό όσο και στο διεθνές πολιτισμικό πλαίσιο.

Η έκδοση αναδεικνύει τη σημασία της κριτικής θεωρίας της τέχνης και της πολιτισμικής πρακτικής, δίνοντας ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στις μεθοδολογίες και τα εννοιολογικά σχήματα που διαμορφώνουν το επιμελητικό όραμα και το πρόγραμμα της Art Seen. Παράλληλα, υπογραμμίζει τη σημασία της καλλιέργειας ενός ισχυρού τοπικού πολιτισμικού οικοσυστήματος, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει πρακτικές οργάνωσης εκθέσεων, καλλιτεχνικής παραγωγής, εκδοτικής δραστηριότητας και αρχειακής τεκμηρίωσης, όπως αυτές αναπτύσσονται από καλλιτέχνες και θεωρητικούς.
Επιπλέον, η έκδοση θέτει ζητήματα ορατότητας και προσβασιμότητας σε ποικίλα πλαίσια και κοινότητες, συμπεριλαμβανομένων της αγοράς τέχνης, της ακαδημαϊκής κοινότητας, των συλλεκτών και του ευρύτερου κοινού.
Η έκδοση, σε σχεδιασμό του Φιλίππου Βασιλειάδη, εκδίδεται από την Art Seen Projects και υλοποιήθηκε με τη στήριξη του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού της Κύπρου, Τμήμα Σύγχρονου Πολιτισμού.

Book Launch and Discussion
Art Seen is pleased to invite you to the book launch of Decennial: A Creative Legacy on Friday, 27 March at 7:30pm, celebrating the publication marking Art Seen’s activities from 2015–2025.

On the occasion of Art Seen’s 11th anniversary, we are honoured to present this publication alongside a discussion featuring Dr Efi Kyprianidou, Associate Professor in Aesthetics, Philosophy and Theory of Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology; Vicky Pericleous, artist and Assistant Professor in the Fine Arts Department at the Cyprus University of Technology; Dr Nicos Philippou, photographer, Lecturer, and Head of the Department of Communications, School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia; Maria Stathi, founder and director of Art Seen; and Dr Marilena Zackheos, poet and Special Scientist in the Department of English Studies at the University of Cyprus.

Decennial: A Creative Legacy is a 304-page publication that traces the gallery’s curatorial trajectory through 39 solo and group exhibitions, presenting nearly 100 contemporary artists over the past decade. For each exhibition, a range of cultural practitioners — including art historians, writers, curators, and artists — have contributed specially commissioned texts, collectively forming a substantial body of critical discourse within both local and international contexts.

The publication foregrounds the significance of critical art theory and cultural practice, with particular attention to the methodologies and frameworks that shape Art Seen’s curatorial vision and programme. It further underscores the importance of cultivating a robust local cultural ecosystem, encompassing exhibition-making, artistic production, publishing, and archival practices developed by artists and theorists alike.
In addition, the publication addresses questions of visibility and accessibility across diverse contexts and audiences, including the art market, academia, collectors, and the wider public.

The publication is produced by Art Seen Projects and designed by Philippos Vassiliades, on the occasion of the gallery’s 10th anniversary exhibition DECENNIAL: A Creative Legacy (9 October – 14 November 2025), with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus, Department of Contemporary Culture.
