- **Event Description**: Israel's ongoing genocide in the Palestinian Territories inevitably had an impact on arts. From Venice to the US and from Ireland all the way to Australia, many cultural events were marked by the tragic developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

On many occasions, the state of Israel tried to art-wash the genocide. However, there were strong voices of resistance to the genocide in music festivals, cinema and TV award ceremonies, even in fashion shows.

We will be discussing art-washing and these voices of resistance on 19 November at Yalla Collective Space & Café, with film director Adonis Florides, music producer Andreas Trachonitis and a member of BDS Cyprus.

Η εν εξελίξει γενοκτονία από το κράτος του Ισραήλ στα κατεχόμενα παλαιστινιακά εδάφη αναπόφευκτα επηρέασε και τις τέχνες. Από τη Βενετία μέχρι τις ΗΠΑ και από την Ιρλανδία μέχρι την Αυστραλία, πολλές πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις σημαδεύτηκαν με τον ένα ή τον άλλο τρόπο από τις εξελίξεις στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας και τη Δυτική Όχθη.

Δεν ήταν λίγες οι περιπτώσεις που το κράτος του Ισραήλ επιχείρησε να ξεπλύνει τη γενοκτονία μέσω των τεχνών (art-washing). Υπήρχαν όμως και δυνατές φωνές αντίστασης στη γενοκτονία σε μουσικά φεστιβάλ, τελετές βράβευσης κινηματογραφικών ταινιών και τηλεοπτικών σειρών, ακόμα και σε επιδείξεις μόδας.
