My nanny was brought up at the foot of Slemish Mountain. 

If you’ve ever been there you’ll know that there’s a long lane up to the foot of the mountain and that’s where she lived as a little girl. 

I dare say that she often heard the stories about Patrick grazing his sheep on the mountain and, she often told me that come St Patrick’s Day,  the weather would improve as ‘Patrick would turn the stane.’ In agricultural terms, planting could commence. 

I’m sure you’ll agree with me that we need Patrick to ‘turn the stane’ this year and, if like me you are longing for Spring, then why not join me in The Studio on St Patrick’s Day as we plant up a Spring Trug together? It’s one of those jobs that is always done better together ! 

You’ll leave with your own reuseable trug filled with Spring loveliness, a beautiful arrangement for a kitchen or coffee table as well as some Shamrock and your own little decorated ‘stane’. 

Afterwards we’ll enjoy some traditional Irish Stew and Wheaten Bread with some School Cake.
