- **Event Description**: Saturday, June 13, 1-4 PM

Boro is a Japanese textile art form, translating to “ragged” or “tattered,” that involves repairing or reinforcing worn fabric using patches and functional running stitches (often sashiko). Originating from necessity, it promotes sustainability by upcycling scraps into functional, durable items like clothing, blankets, or bags, transforming worn textiles into unique, patched pieces.

Join artist Dena Bisnette to create your own Boro patchwork. Class participants will make a small mat for under a coffee cup to learn boro methods. You may also bring your own fabric items for mending. Thin cotton fabrics are most appropriate for beginners. $45 includes all supplies. Register by June 6* on our website or by calling or stopping by the gallery.

*no refunds issued after registration deadline unless class size minimum is not met.
