🌸 The American Legion Country Club Spring Classic
A Tradition Since 1982
What began in 1982 as the Genesee Classic — a one-day, two-man better ball tournament — has grown into one of the most anticipated spring golf events in the region. The inaugural champions, Don Dimoff Sr. & Don Dimoff Jr., claimed victory with a 5-under-par 69, while Jack & Cliff Heidel took the net division with an impressive 59.
Over the decades, the event has evolved into what is now the Spring Classic, welcoming golfers from across multiple states to compete in both Gross and Net Divisions over the last full weekend in April.
After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event roared back stronger than ever — hosting 86 teams in 2021. With its continued growth, the field is now capped at 80 teams to ensure play finishes before sunset and to maintain the elite, invitational feel that has come to define the tournament.
🏆 2025 Champions
⛳️ Gross Division: Justin Rudacille & Kory Trout — -9, victorious in a card-off over John & Adam O’Brien
🎯 Net Division: Gavin Kuykendall & Nathan Mykut — -20, also winning in a card-off over John & Adam O’Brien
Each spring, the event continues to celebrate competition, camaraderie, and the legacy of golf at the American Legion Country Club — where tradition meets friendly rivalry.
