Sala Gathering
Ancestral Skills Gathering
Sala Gathering takes place on the wild and ancient lands of Dartmoor nestled between old oak and beech woods, and golden gorse painted heathland, where deer roam and beavers build dams. Here we come together in community for a week of crafting on the land with story, song and reciprocity, uniting people from all walks of life through the sharing of common folk traditions and land-based living skills.
We gather together as a healing antidote to an era of disconnection and distraction on a beautiful re-wilding project, sharing food, sleeping beneath the stars, tending the fire and practicing age-old skills and crafts that nourish our human existence.
When: 2nd - 8th July , 2025
Where: Near Moretonhampstead, Dartmoor National Park, Devon. We will be camping and a full list of what to bring will be sent out on registration.
Who is Sala Gathering for?
Anyone and everyone who has a curiosity and love for the wild, ancestral lifeways and land-based crafts with a wish to connect with a nature-based community. We welcome all ages and levels of experience.
What does 'Sala' mean?
'Sala' is the proto-celtic word for 'Moor'.
Proto-Celtic is the reconstruction of the early language spoken in the British Isles and Western Europe, by the ancestors of the Celts from which all Celtic languages later developed.
