If time allows we may visit Hound Tor medieval village. The route is mainly lanes and footpaths with a steady climb up to Bowerman's Nose. This is a FREE walk, offered by the Dartmoor Preservation Association.Distance: approx 7 milesAllow: approx 3 to 4 hours to include stops for storytellingStart time: 10amMeet at: Hound Tor/Swallerton Gate Car Park (Grid ref739 792) post code TW13 9XGBOOKING ESSENTIAL as numbers are limited due to the lanes being busy. For this reason no dogs and no under 12s. Possibility of a refreshment van in the car park but no toilets. Bring your own food and drink for a lunch stop.
