There are so many different types of swingouts and together we will be exploring several common styles. In this lesson we will delve into swingout variations that will add to your repertoire and put a spin on this classic move. (Participants are expected to know the basics of a swingout as this will not be taught.)

Social dance: 4-6 PM

Meet our wonderful instructors for this coming event! 

Daniel found partnered dancing in 2009 and it completely changed his life. Slowly, but steadily, the dance lured him to explore more about the music, movement, and history of American musical genres. He describes his relationship with dance as a love affair, and wants to do all that he can to share its magic with others. Today, you can find Daniel teaching workshops, djing, and emceeing events throughout the Midwest. His work is characterized by an exuberant passion for exploring connection with a dance partner, the music, and surrounding community. 

Emily serves as an active member in the dance community, bringing diverse groups together through her love of dance for the past 16 years! Emily started swing dancing at Wright State University and the University of Dayton in 2010. She has attended and competed in numerous dance events across the U.S. and later founded the Dancing Lindy Hoppers at Wright State University where she served as president for two years. Emily also enjoys various styles of dance ranging from west coast swing to Latin ballroom. Emily loves to dance and has worked as an instructor with Naptown Stomp and Gem City Swing, teaching both beginner and advanced lessons while sharing the joy of swing dance with others!

We are so excited to host everyone again at Wooden Cask Brewery (629 york street. Newport, KY) and enjoy another afternoon of dancing, amazing music, food and drinks.
