The 3-2-1 series returns! Each competition starts and finishes with your team playing triples - in between your team splits to play parallel doubles and singles games. The format means that there is a random-factor to the match ups, and it offers a chance for your team to test your skills in all 3 disciplines. With points on offer for each win, your mini-squad accumulates points over 5 rounds to decide the winner.
As with last year, we are running the 3-2-1 as a competition series. You can enter a single comp or – if you are up for a challenge – you can enter all 3 events. Teams entering more than one event accumulate points towards a season ranking: can your mini-squad take the top spot?
Around 70% of the entry fee for each event will go back as prizes on the day, with 15% going into the accumulator pot. If we have 12 teams at each event this means 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes of £60, £45and £30 on the day, with £36 going into the accumulator pot. That pot will be awarded to the series winners giving them a tidy bonus of up to £144. A small percentage (15% of the entry fees goes to support the club). Actual prize money will depend on entries – but we have filled each of the last four 321s that we’ve run.
Each competition is limited to 12 teams of 3 players*. This is an Open event so no licence is needed. The coffee shop should be open - and they serve good food too - but feel free to bring lunch and flask: the bar will open at 12pm.
Registration is 9.15 to 9.30. We will play timed games, and should be wrapped up by 4.30pm.
Entry is £21 per team for each competition, and is secured by pre-pay only.
