The 8th Annual Entrepreneurs Ball "A Taste of Legacy"

Nine years ago, Chef Brittney stepped onto the culinary scene with nothing but a dream and faith. There was no blueprint, no mentor—only the determination to learn, grow, and honor the food that raised her. Culinary school taught her techniques from Latin, Asian, and European cuisine. But when it came to American cuisine—the food of her upbringing—something was missing. The history felt rushed, watered down, or entirely left out.

So she set out on her own journey—traveling, researching, remembering. She traced the roots of Southern food and discovered something powerful:

You cannot speak of American cuisine without speaking of the South. And you cannot speak of the South without honoring the Black chefs who shaped it.
