This area plays a crucial role in supporting both resident and migratory species, providing essential food and shelter year-round. Due to ongoing human impacts, these habitats are in constant need of restoration. No prior experience is required; we'll provide all the necessary training and equipment you'll need. Also, as we work, we'll share valuable insights about the habitat and the species that depend on this critical ecosystem. Due to the sensitivity of this habitat, attendees must be 18+ to participate.Waiver: Everyone must sign both the OC Habitats Waiver and the Project Grow Waiver to participate.Bring/Wear: Wear layers to be prepared for various weather conditions, closed-toed shoes or boots that you don't mind getting muddy, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), and bring water and snacks.On the day of the restoration, volunteers should arrive by 8:15 AM to allow us time to walk to the site and begin by 8:30 AM.Park & Meet: Free parking is available at the Upper Newport Bay Natural Preserve lot and curbside along University Drive.
