We also have extra binoculars and are happy to lend them out on a first-come, first-served basis!Space is limited, so please be sure to RSVP.PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:We will meet at the Big Canyon parking lot in Newport Beach. From Jamboree, take San Joaquin Hills Road west toward the bay until it intersects with Back Bay Drive. Turn right onto Back Bay Drive and follow the road to the Big Canyon parking lot, which will be on your left. Parking is free.ACCESSIBILITY:We will start in the parking lot, checking for shorebirds. Then we will walk on the paved one-way road along the shore, then walk on a dirt/gravel trail through the riparian woodland and coastal sage scrub habitat. We will circle back to the parking lot. Total walking distance is about 1.5 miles.
