Please join the Carnegie Library and the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation for a talk and presentation by Jill Evans, President Emerita of the Atlanta Writers Club, on the life and work of Jennie Manget Logan. Born in Marietta, with two brothers who settled in Newnan, Jennie spent many years as a nurse abroad. In 1918, she and her physician husband were called from their medical missionary work in China to Red Cross service for the American Expeditionary Forces. In one year, she went from warlord ruled China to winter in Siberian Russia to Europe with the Czechoslovak Legion to a summer in Newnan and back to China. Through it all – war, disease and personal tragedy – Jennie displayed remarkable determination and resilience.
***Registrants are invited to bring their own lunch to the event. Doors open at 11:30 am. Program begins at 12 noon sharp and ends at 1:00 pm.
