Each session is led by an artist, who brings a poem of their choosing to share with the group for discussion for the first 40 minutes. In the second half of the session, group participants are invited to share their own recent writing for informal feedback.(It is not expected that everybody will have writing to share.)There will be six sessions, running from 15 Jan until 30 Apr, taking place in The studio at Newlyn Art Gallery, which looks out to sea. You can come to as many of the sessions as you like, but each one will need to be booked.THU 19 MAR: GEORGIA GENDALLGeorgia’s multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, performance, video, writing and participatory work. Centring on themes of ecological entanglement and the rural body; Georgia’s work is often absurd and precarious and relies on risk, chance, negotiation or collaboration to subvert, celebrate, challenge or disrupt interspecies dependencies, the environments we co-inhabit and the systems we exist within.Georgia is the founder of Falmouth Worm Charming Championships: an annual grassroots community worm charming day. Georgia also runs Allotment Club: a rural social project space on an allotment in Cornwall dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary exchange between local growers and artists.
