- **Event Description**: This winter, for a few Saturdays only, Woodfire takes over a stunning hidden location on the ancient Firle Estate for a series of magnificent six-course feasts cooked before our guests, over fire.

Inspired by a traditional British shooting lunch — but reimagined for today — this is a celebration of game, wild venison and seasonal vegetables, served in a setting of candlelight, woodsmoke and warm hospitality.

A Feast by Firelight
Fires burn inside and out, long tables glow with candles, and the scent of woodsmoke fills the air as dusk falls and a six-course sharing feast unfolds over the afternoon.

Expect pheasant, partridge and wild venison, alongside the best of the winter garden — all cooked over flame and served with the generous hospitality that Woodfire has become known for. Vegetarian and vegan menus are also available.

To drink: a complimentary welcome drink on arrival, beers from Firle's Burning Sky Brewery, a curated list of sustainable wines and our signature winter cocktails (paying bar).

Sustainability with Substance
This feast makes the most of what is available in the British countryside at this time of year. Game and responsibly-sourced wild venison; using a by-product of British country life and supporting wildlife management across the South Downs. Every ingredient tells a story of time, place and season.

? Getting Here
A secret location on the Firle Estate, near Lewes, East Sussex. For those arriving by car or taxi, free parking is available in Firle village car park. The Feast's exact location is a short (and very beautiful) walk from here and will be revealed on the day of your event. 

By train: Regular trains run from London (approx. 1 hour) and Brighton (approx. 20 minutes) to Lewes or Glynde.
From the station: Firle is an easy taxi ride from both Lewes and Brighton. Shuttles can be arranged.

Driving: Free parking available at Firle village car park (a 5-minute walk).

Event Details:

Date: Saturdays 20th December 2025
Arrival: from 6pm
Feast begins: 6.30pm
Duration: 3-4 hours
Tickets: £85 per person (includes a welcome drink, six-course fire-cooked feast, fireside seating and marshmallows to toast)
Bar: open throughout serving cocktails, wine, locally brewed beer and alcohol free options. 

You’ll leave warmed through by food, fire and the lovely company of other like-minded people.
