- **Event Description**: Join us for our very first Story Slam! In collaboration with Pocketbook Literary Magazine, we invite local storytellers to share a short story inspired by the themes in Tiyan Baker’s Mouth Mnemonica. The stories will be judged and winners announced at the end of the day.

Tiyan Baker’s exhibition encourages us to discover the mouth as a cultural landscape and reimagine the ways we transfer intergenerational cultural knowledge. From practicing writers to first-time storytellers, participants are encouraged to engage deeply with the exhibition ahead of the event and craft stories shaped by their own perspective, emotions and lived experiences.

Facilitated by Pocketbook founder Amber Wilkes, audience members are welcome to play an active role contributing to a supportive atmosphere that celebrates authenticity, creativity and community.
