Feeling More Human - Understanding the Body Through the lens of Polyvagal Theory (vagus nerve)

An Invitation to Listen, Not Override

Through the lens of Polyvagal Theory and the vagus nerve, this 4-week experiential course invites you to slow down, listen, and understand your body instead of pushing through its signals.
Inflammation, whether it appears as tension, exhaustion, or emotional heat - is the body’s way of saying, “I’m trying to protect you.”

When we meet these messages with compassion, healing begins.

We will explore bottom-up (somatic) and top-down (mindful) practices, grounded in current neuroscience and experienced care.

Do You Recognise Yourself Here?

Feeling tired but wired, unable to truly rest
Pushing through pain or pressure, even when your body asks for pause
Feeling foggy, inflamed, or anxious & stressed
Experiencing pain throughout the body, tension that doesn’t fully release
A general lack of vitality or sense of burnout
A feeling of heaviness or hopelessness that lingers beneath the surface
Your body tightening when you want to relax, as if it no longer trusts ease

These are not flaws, they are nervous-system survival patterns that once kept you safe.

The Weight of Our Times

For many, 2025 has brought more daily stressors, and the body carries an even heavier load.
Constant pressure can heighten stress responses and sustain inflammation, impacting both physical and emotional wellbeing.

The Body’s Wisdom

Inflammation is not the enemy — it’s information.
When the body feels unsafe for too long, the repair cycle can’t complete.
Learning to soothe inflammation means learning to listen, to notice what your body needs before it has to shout.

The Nervous System Lens

Under stress, the body cycles through fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses.
By working with the vagus nerve, the body’s main pathway of safety and repair, we can move from survival into regulation returning to rest, digestion, and calm.
Through gentle education and embodied practice, you’ll learn to understand your body not as a problem to fix, but a being to befriend.
