History is being made in Mayfield! NSW GAA Hunter is proud to host the very first official Gaelic football matches ever played in the Hunter Region — and you're invited to be part of it.
Where: Dangar Park, Mayfield
When: From 12:30pm — come early and settle in!
We’ll have some shade set up and plenty of refreshments — sausages from The Irish Butcher, snacks, and drinks will be available throughout the day. But we’re expecting a crowd and a full day of action, so come prepared: picnic rugs, folding chairs, eski’s, hats, sunscreen — the whole shebang!
🗓️ Match Schedule
1:00pm – U10s Match
• 2 x 15 min halves, 10 min half-time
2:00pm – U14s Match
• 2 x 20 min halves, 10 min half-time
3:00pm – Ladies Match
• 2 x 20 min halves, 10 min half-time
4:00pm – Men’s Match
• 2 x 30 min halves, 10 min half-time
☀️ Note: If it’s a hot day, we’ll introduce a short water break halfway through each half to keep our players safe and hydrated. We'll also be following our weather policies so we'll keep you posted on the day if changes need to be made.
You may notice that the gala does not include our biggest little superstars, the 4-6's. Fear not! While we won't be having our usual training on the day, there will be space for a kick around & some Christmas surprises in-store to celebrate all they have achieved so far this season.
So whether you’re Irish, Aussie, or just a Gaelic-curious sports lover — come along and help us kick off this historic day for GAA in the Hunter!
