Gypsy Belly Dancing is a low impact dance style which improves your posture, fitness, core strength and even your memory. Happiness is a wonderful side effect!
Sonya Manzalini, teacher, choreographer and artist director of Dance Of Life Belly Dance and Drums, has been teaching and supporting women for over 30 years in Newcastle. Gypsy Belly Dance classes are fun and welcoming.
Many studies now also show the fantastic physical, cognitive and mental health benefits of dancing.
Evening course available now. 
Course runs for 8 weeks.
Times are: 6pm to 7:30pm
An 8 week Gypsy Belly Dance course designed for beginners.
Course dates: Tuesday 10th February to 7th April 2026.
Course are held at Newcastle PCYC Corner Young and Melbourne Rd, Broadmeadow.
Over the eight weeks of the course, students will learn an original choreography and will be learning with students of a similar level. 
The course is sequentially organized so that each week the previous lesson will be revised and new steps and techniques will be introduced so that the choreography develops and students gain a thorough knowledge of the gypsy belly dance style.
The Dance of Life is a professional dance school specializing in the Dance of Life Belly Dance Technique which focuses on traditional Gypsy and folkloric styles.
We are a group of welcoming women, classes are both technical and fun.
