- **Event Description**: The Atlas program is an initiative of the State Library of NSW and is designed to encourage curiosity and creativity in children aged 5-15. Join us at Newcastle City Library for Art Club, Book Lovers Club and Young Writers Club sessions! 

Do you love reading? We have the perfect club for you! Atlas is a community for curious kids; join Newcastle City Library as we bring Atlas Clubs to you! 

At Book Lovers Club meet amazing Australian authors and ask them everything you’ve ever wanted to know about life as an author. They’ll share stories about their books, where they find inspiration and the best parts of their job. Our sessions are spoiler-free so you can join even if you haven't read the book!

Sessions:

Tuesday 28 July | 4-5pm 
Meet author Karen Wasson as she shares insights into her graphic novel Inked. Hear more about Karen’s writing journey and ask questions about her book and the inspiration behind her creative ideas. 

Tuesday 8 September | 4-5pm 
Meet author Samera Kamaleddine as she introduces her latest book, The Clueless Guide to Solving a Mystery. In this interactive session, you’ll have the chance to ask Samera questions and discover the ideas behind her stories. 

Cost: Free

Ages: 5-15 years

No experience needed. All equipment provided, just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Bookings essential - book one session or as many club sessions as you like.

Terms and conditions:
For participants aged 12 years and under, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.

For participants under the age of 16, parent and/or guardian contact details must be provided at the time of booking.

About Atlas:
The Atlas program is a State Library of NSW initiative designed to encourage curiosity and creativity in children aged 5-15. The Art Club, Book Lovers Club, and Young Writers Clubs are designed to inspire children to learn through hands-on sessions with experienced professionals. Participants at Newcastle City Library will engage with our library staff and other children in the library, while also interacting with the professional facilitator and members of Atlas Club all over the state via Zoom.
