Saf will show you some of the basics of embroidery and how it can be used to make pretty nature-inspired patches to give life to old clothes while also adding some brand new style!This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced crafters.Essential InformationEvent leads: Safia BadawiEvent length: 1 session, Friday 27 February, 1pm - 3 pm (approx)Meet at: NHSN Council Room, Level 2, Great North Museum: HancockEvent cost: £5Please bring along any fabric items you’d like to give a new life - holey shirts, beloved old teddies, or even a pair of dungarees that could use a few whimsical mushroom patches! Photos may be taken as part of this event for social media purposes - if you would prefer to not be included please let a member of staff know at the start of the session.If you have any questions, feel free to email Ellie at urbannaturalist@newcastle.ac.uk.Accessability:This event is indoors in a wheelchair accessable venue. Kitchen (kettle and microwave) and accessible toilet facilities available. About the event lead:Safia Badawi studies Ancient History at Newcastle University, although is a lifelong lover of biology and art.
