Ben De La Cour (USA) + Serious Sam Barrett

Ben De La Cour's first visit to Newcastle in April. He will be a special guest of Lucinda Williams and opening on her Feb 2025 European tour.

Raised in Brooklyn, Singer- Songwriter Ben de la Cour has lived in London, Cuba and across the United States before making his home in the American south over a decade and a half ago. Drawing on inspiration from writers and musicians alike—Townes Van Zandt,, Nina Simone, Leonard Cohen, James Baldwin and Carson McCullers among them—de la Cour’s gothic folk songs are as heartbreaking as they are beautiful. A natural storyteller, Ben de la Cour’s visceral songwriting grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. Weaving evocative stories of desperate characters with his signature “America noir” sound, de la Cour shines a glaring light on the human condition.Ben's latest album is at number 6 in their end of year best Americana albums, of Uncut magazine.

Serious Sam Barrett is no stranger to Jumpin Hot Club. The Yorkshire balladeer is a very strong folk/roots songster and its always a privilege to have him here .
