Come and experience first-hand the creativity that defines the heart of the Ouseburn Valley. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, curious to see behind-the-scenes, or simply looking for a unique day out with the family, the 36 Lime Street Open Studios is a must-visit event this November. Free Entry.
Now home to more than 50 artists, designers, and makers, will open its doors for the much-anticipated Open Studios event on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November from 10 am to 5 pm.
For three decades, 36 Lime Street has provided a unique opportunity for the public to meet talented artists and makers in their studios, explore their working environments, and purchase original artworks directly from the creators. Located in the heart of Ouseburn Valley, 36 Lime Street offers a rare glimpse into the creative spaces where some of the region’s most innovative and talented visual artists, jewellers, ceramicists, musicians, and designers work. Spanning five floors of a Grade II listed building, visitors will be able to explore over 30 open studios, interact with the artists, view live performances and demonstrations, and purchase unique, handcrafted pieces.
Buy direct! You can commission items as well as buy “off the wall”.
Most makers take debit/credit cards (but best to arm yourselves with some cash!).

Fantastic prizes for 2025 include a cosy night at Lockhaugh Farm 5* self-catering accommodation in the Derwent Valley, Ouseburn Trust tour, Seven Stories books, food and drinks vouchers from Ouseburn neighbours including The Ship, Deep North and Northern Rye, and last but not least our fantastic resident artists’ donations of their beautiful work.

Access Information
The gallery and main entrance with raffle is accessible from street level. Level 1 is accessible via the slipway. Please note that all other floors can only be accessed by stairs.
