The first three workshops this year were great fun and learning experiences! The three groups of 5 and have changed the look and uses of the garden massively, with 2 new decked areas, stone walls, steps and a large garden shed. Really well done!

It is based just above Poppit Sands, 2 miles from Cardigan in West Wales. 

This fast moving, as ever hands on course, will introduce skills from building sheds, to log stores, to stone walling, to raised beds, pond building and making trellis work.

Come along and be inspired to envision and make full use of your outdoor space. Many women attending the one day Basic DIY skills workshops get really excited when they see the beautiful cabin, decked area, tools shed and walls that women, who were all beginners have built. Start dreaming of possibilities !

I love stone walling. I built my first substantial wall at 13! There is some methodology but its also guided by an instinct, how you want the wall to look and which stone to pick up next!

One woman who really got into it said, "This could be addictive"!

You'll start with a stone wall, move onto timber walls, decking and build a shed, or shelter! You'll transform an area above the fire circle!

As we make the new landscaped area we'll lighting fires and eat outdoors!

The workshop will support all skill levels, including beginners!

Thursday - Walking The Land
We'll have a look at how the larger garden here has been developed to offer social and functional spaces. We will then explore your gardens and ideas.
 
Friday - Stone Walling
It will cover the basics, from:
Calculating materials for a small wall
Digging out and installing a foundation
Installing a rear 'hidden' block wall
Building up a natural stone wall using a lime mortar mix
Finishing off wall/pointing

Saturday 
Design and build a small timber deck area - all in one day

Sunday
Design and build a small shed with roof - all in one day plus.

Tuesday
Finish by build an adjoining raised bed and design and make trellis work

The course fee of £610 includes: 
* your own comfy double room in my arty colourful house
* help your self breakfast
* yummy lunches and B-B-Qs
* My now famous home made dinners (cater for all dietry needs)
* Spa pool session at the Cliff Hotel
* 1.5 hour sunset Dolphin watching trip
* Nature walk and lunch out

 Bring your own deserts and alcohol.

There will be outdoor fires and BBQs.
