Welcome to Culture Sessions, a new event local to Cardigan and surrounding areas - curated by One Man Army Sound, at Culture Sessions not only do we focus on the music and the sound system at our dances, we also focus on the culture of sound system, the traditions and the influence of rastafari in the UK Roots/Sound system scene.

Brother Oscar, chief at one man army sound system, coming with a rooktikal and militant selection, anything from Roots to heavy steppas, expect high energy and heavy bass lines!

UK Sound System Culture display from Root Bound Sound - He has militantly been documenting and promoting sound system culture in the South West since 2012. There will be a display of images taken from his long form project entitled βHow To String A Soundβ as well as limited edition prints available.

Throughout the night if you have any question about sound systems, the equipment used or how it works, or "what does that button do", feel free to ask, we are always happy to help people learn!
We will have a few bits of equipment on display, you can of corse touch them, we just ask that you are respectful of all the displays.

Its important that the rastafarian influences and different connections to sound system culture in the UK are respected and tought, there will be some information on this available and some other information & books to read.

We will have on display throughout the night a list of all your local Roots / Dub Sound Systems, Sound System Collectives and local events collectives with Sound Systems.

There will be a bar open on the night, refreshments served till its done βοΈ

π« Cardigan Guild Hall π«
We are working with Cardigan Guild Hall who will be running the bar and letting us use there hall to put this on, its important to help support our local communities as much as possible, please be respectful of the venue, we will not tolerate bad behaviour of any kind, we are creating a safe space π

Entry is Β£5 on the door, we prefer cash but we will be accepting card payments, card payments incur a 50P charge, there is a cash point less than 100M away to withdraw cash and get change
