Collingwood Legal is hosting a half-day SAR Wars! Masterclass on Thursday 19 September 2019 from 9am to 2pm at Kingston Park Stadium, Brunton Road, Newcastle, NE13 8AF.
We will assess the impact of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the increased use of Subject Access Requests (SAR) on businesses and HR teams dealing with employee personal data when handling grievances, disciplinaries, sickness absences, recruitment and Employment Tribunal litigation. This session is designed to give HR professionals, managers and data protection officers, confidence in complying with the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, when collecting, processing, sharing personal data and when dealing with a SAR.
We will give a comprehensive overview of the GDPR, your duties when receiving and dealing with a SAR and a practical understanding of the implications and legal requirements placed on your organisation from a data management point of view. We will focus on the importance of managing responses to Subject Access Requests (SARs) and give you an insight into how the Information Commissioners office (ICO) may handle complaints from a data subject. The careful management of personal data is vital to successfully defending complaints in the Employment Tribunal and complaints made to the ICO. We will provide you with practical guidance and assistance in these critical areas of HR data management.
The session is interactive and includes various practical case studies and comprehensive workbook and will be run by our experienced and expert lawyers, Paul Johnstone and Alexandra Besnard.
