We are delighted to welcome screenwriter and Sunday Times Bestselling novelist, Robert Thorogood, to the Watermill this spring.
Robert is best known as the creator of the internationally acclaimed BBC murder mystery series, Death in Paradise. After graduating from Cambridge University, he spent many years supporting his writing career with a variety of temporary jobs, including dressing up in a full bear costume to taunt the then Prime Minister, John Major; being a magician at Hamley’s; and being employed to change the batteries in the remote controls for a minor branch of the Saudi Royal Family.
Robert’s most recent novel, The Mysterious Affair of Judith Potts, is the latest in his hit series The Marlow Murder Club and was published in Jan 2026. The third series of the TV adaptation of the books, starring Samantha Bond, will be broadcast on U&Drama in Mar 2026.
Come along for a thrilling conversation with Robert, and the opportunity to hear more about his work and his latest book.
Robert will also be signing books after the event, and we will also have a small selection of Robert's books available to purchase on the day.
This is a fundraising event, which means all profits will go towards our ongoing fundraising - thank you for your support.
