"The Redemption of Scrooge" Advent Sermon Series

The story of Ebenezer Scrooge is a one of transformation. His greed, regrets, fear, and attitudes are brought into full view through unexpected encounters with the past, present, and future. Scrooge’s journey reveals the work of God’s grace that is offered to us in the birth of Jesus – the gift that proclaims light that overcomes darkness, and mercy that softens hard hearts. The same choices that Scrooge experienced stand before each of us – see our lives truthfully, receive redemption as a gift, and choose to live differently because of it. This Advent series invites us to journey through the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, exploring how his transformation reveals the gift of grace that we find in the birth of Jesus that opens us up to a new way of life.
