Confronting Our Implicit Bias

Please join us for a Sunday Service. We'd love to meet you!Confronting Our Implicit Bias

Sunday, January 20, 2019, 10:30 am Rev. Paula Maiorano

All humans have an unconscious bias, often referred to as implicit bias. The ability to rapidly categorize friend or foe helped early humans survive. Unfortunately, today they often are the foundation of stereotypes, prejudices, and a multitude of isms, including racism. In this MLK Jr Sunday service, Rev. Maiorano explores how we can identify and change our hidden biases to become more fully aware and connected human beings.

If you're new, fear not, we hope you will come and explore this topic with us! Maybe stay after service and tell us what you thought over a coffee or tea, or lemonade. All are welcome! We'd love to get to know you and find out what you think about the service.Come early if you like and join us from 9:30-10:15 for complimentary coffee, tea, and maybe a bagel in the Olympia Brown Lounge.Join us to continue the discussion after the service for complimentary Coffee, tea, lemonade, and goodies in Fahs Hall. All Are Welcome.Tickets not required, but they do help us plan for seating and refreshments.Visit our website UUFN.org for more information!Children are welcome! They may stay with you during the service or they may participate in the programs we have available for them. It is helpful if you come a little early to help settle them in.
