Anima Mundi Art Exhibition

A Month of Shotguns:

Art Exhibition

The Latin term "Anima Mundi" can be translated into English as "world soul," or "soul of the world." Though the concept is much older, the term itself is derived from Plato's dialogue, "Timaeus," and has influenced thinkers and philosophers for centuries. The idea behind the "anima mundi," according to Plato is that “the cosmos is a single Living Creature which contains all living creatures within it." As this world soul embraces all, it also connects us all to the natural world; to each other. This exhibition seeks to present works of art that portray images of the concept of anima mundi, either by portraying the reinforcement of our connection to the world soul, or by showing us where we may be feeling the loss of that connection.
