Working with pigment, text, and salvaged matter — including crushed brick — Benoit approaches material as both subject and method, treating it as an archive of transnational histories.Roots Through Ruins situates Grenada within wider networks of exchange, drawing parallels between the island’s colonial architectural history and Britain. Through this lens, brick becomes both a material and conceptual device — a way of understanding how histories are embedded, circulated, and continually reinterpreted.Rather than presenting architecture as fixed heritage, Benoit’s work positions it as an active field of enquiry.
