Session 2: How to Think Like a Leader Early in Your Career
Wednesday, March 25 | 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (EST)
Zoom/Virtual

Join alumna Priyanka Mahankali for our second session of "Adulting 101". Leadership is no longer defined by title — it’s defined by mindset. This session is designed to help students and early-career professionals develop strategic thinking early, so they can stand out, create impact, and accelerate growth long before formal leadership opportunities arise.

Drawing from experience leading strategic initiatives at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and interviewing hundreds of candidates at Amazon, this session will focus on how to think beyond tasks, understand business impact, and make career decisions that compound over time. The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session, during which participants may submit questions via the moderated chat.

Priyanka Mahankali graduated from NJIT with an MS in Computer Science in 2016. She is a Strategy Leader in Commercial Aviation at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she works with global aerospace organizations on digital transformation and emerging technologies.

Priyanka is the host of "The Early Career Podcast by Priyanka Mahankali", a platform dedicated to helping students and young professionals navigate their first 3-5 years with clarity and confidence. The podcast explores strategic thinking, career positioning, market shifts, and the skills that create long-term impact — well before formal leadership titles come into play.

Episodes are available on YouTube, Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Podcasts.

Registration is required. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation and details on how to join the Zoom event. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Chernoff, Associate Director of Next Generation Engagement, at heather.chernoff@njit.edu.
