Now, Unboxed is going directly to young adults who are working out what it means to be a parent.Alex House Project Founder and Director Samora Coles is a visionary leader who is open to new paradigms. She immediately saw the value of bringing Dáreece Walker’s art to the young people her organization serves."These images can be affirming and positive for our young people," says Coles. Walker's portraits make visible something that, often distorted, is proven statistically: Black fathers are very involved in the lives of their children—present, loving, nurturing, and engaged.For Walker, making art that shakes up the status quo is essential. The response at Gallery Particulier has been extraordinary.
