THE FACE OF JIZO 父と暮せば Project

From Hiroshima, a Father and Daughter's Reading 広島の親子が綴る :

"THE FACE OF JIZO" 「父と暮せば」

This year, we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In recognition of this event having impacted not only Japan, but the world over, we are presenting the play The Face of Jizo by Hisashi Inoue, which revolves around the Hiroshima atomic bombing. The subtitles will be provided by Roger Pulvers, the translator and filmmaker who worked on the translation of this piece.

This production is unique as our team consists of a father and his daughter, the descendants of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima's survivors, and they will share a staged reading of this masterfully crafted work.

2025年夏、井上ひさし氏の不朽の名作『父と暮せば』を、アメリカ・ニューヨーク、そして広島で上演決定！

広島で生まれて育った父と娘が、美しい広島弁で緻密に作り込まれたこの作品をステージ上で朗読します。

父親役を務める三宅信之は日本からこの公演のために来米。娘役はニューヨーク在住の三宅由利子が務めます。ト書きを、ニューヨークでは由利子の母：三宅ケイコが務め、広島公演では森永明日夏が務めます。広島出身の者達により語られる物語に、井上ひさし氏とも深い交流のあった翻訳家・映画監督のロジャー・パルバース氏の字幕をつけて上演いたします。

沢山の方々とこの親子の物語を共感・共有・共震できますように。
