We'll be discussing the importance and details of healthy soil, as well as conducting a few experiments to test some of your soil from home! Whether you have decades of composting experience or none at all, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join this free 2 hour workshop.This course is one of 7 required workshops for completion of the Master Composter Certificate. Learn more here!Please enter though the main entrance of the Garden and join us in the Auditorium of the Visitor &amp; Administration Building.Please Note: Admission into the course ends 15 minutes after the start time of the course.FREE. All attendees must register on Eventbrite.FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSIs there an age requirement?Participants must be 16 years of age or older.Where do I go once I get to the Garden? What time should I arrive?The course will be held in the Auditorium of the Visitor &amp; Administration Building. Please allow 5 minutes to walk from the Main Gate to the Visitor &amp; Administration Building or 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot.What are my transportation and parking options getting to the Garden?Please park in our Parking Garden lot at 42-80 Crommelin Street, Flushing, NY 11355. You do not have to pay for parking or admission. Tell the attendant your name and that you are here for a Master Composter Course.By public transportation, take the number 7 subway line to Main Street, the Long Island Rail Road (Port Washington line) to Main Street/Flushing, or the Q44-SBS or Q20 bus.For driving directions and more information: https://queensbotanical.org/directionsWhat should I bring?Some of the Master Composter Courses will have a hands-on or outdoor component, please wear weather appropriate clothing that you don't mind getting dirty--sun hats and sunscreen if it's hot, or layers if it's cold. Don't forget sturdy close-toed shoes.
