About Dr. Carla:
Dr. Carla Foster is originally from South Florida and moved to New York to earn a bachelor's degree in Human Biology from Hunter College, with a minor in Spanish. She loved it so much that she continued at Hunter to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy! Carla has 14 years of experience in dance consisting of ballet, pointe, modern/contemporary, tap, and jazz. Following sustaining a career ending injury, Carla developed her passion for helping performers. Her understanding of the body and movement allows her to connect with patients on a deeper level. She strongly believes in a multi-disciplinary treatment approach and providing every patient with a specific care plan targeted to their functional/recreational goals.
About Marissa Ivana:
Marissa Ivana has over 20 years of dance and fitness experience, including roles as a former NBA and Ubisoft dancer. She is a certified trainer in multiple disciplines, including Barre, YogaSculpt, and Functional Fitness. As the Founder of Mivana Move, she hosts private fitness events and trains kids in dance and gymnastics. Marissa teaches a variety of classes in NYC and the Hamptons, offering a unique Sculpt workout that combines barre, Pilates, and dance conditioning. She has partnered with brands like LoveShackFancy, Athleta, and Samsung, and her classes are known for their creative sequencing and addictive nature.
