Inspired by early analog synthesizers, the system combines coding and physical computing, allowing audience members to shape the composition by patching cables. The length of each cable determines the intensity of audio effects such as reverb and filtering, calculated using light-speed measurements in collaboration with Bolsée.Join us for the opening of Signal Distance on Thursday, Nov 20th which includes a short talk by Ivana Dama exploring the inspiration and creative process behind the sound installation, followed by a live performance of the instrument, after which the public can explore it firsthand through hands-on patching. This participatory work invites collective authorship and reimagines how we listen and create together.Signal Distance will also be open to the public Friday-Sunday from 1-6pm.This project is supported within the CultureHub Residency program.
