- **Event Description**: SABINE Women (or Pilgrim Play) explores themes of sisterhood and survival—what it means to be content.About this EventIn pre-colonial America, four women are plucked from their settlement and brought to a remote one far north, where they’re forced to choose a husband in seven days. Things quickly go awry. SABINE Women (or Pilgrim Play) explores themes of sisterhood and survival—what it means to be content, and how one learns to live with oneself even when life doesn’t unfold the way you want it to.PERFORMANCES:November 23 — 7:30 PMRUNNING TIME: 90 minPRICE: $15.00At IRT: 154 Christopher st. NYC #3B (third floor)ADA AccessibleCast & Crew:Playwright — Bella CvengrosDirector — Acadia BarrengosStage Manager — Cristina NeelyBella Cvengros is an actor and playwright from Northern California, where she grew up among four siblings and redwoods—both early audiences (and occasional victims) of her boisterous, overactive imagination. She studied at A.C.T. Theater in San Francisco and performed in regional theater—including the West Coast premiere of The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe—before earning her B.A. in Acting and Playwriting from USC. While there, she expanded her on-camera work with a co-star role in a feature film and lead performances in short films such as Yes, And!, A Natural Disorder of Things, and Just Pizza.Fresh off a sold-out run of her play Moonshine and Canned Pasta—which she wrote and starred in—at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, Cvengros made the move from L.A. to New York City. Since then, she has been active in the city’s downtown theater scene, most recently writing and performing in Baby Teeth’s first staged reading at Playwrights Horizons Studios, performing in a short play festival at AMT Theater, and starring in The Dirty Ladies... at BCC.Currently, Cvengros is workshopping two new pieces—BABY TEETH and SABINE Women (or Pilgrim Play)—in residence at IRT Theater. She is represented for literary and Film/TV by Stagecoach Management and for Theater/Film acting by Zuri Agency.https://www.bellacvengros.com/@bellacvengrosIRT Theater is a grassroots laboratory for independent theater and performance in New York City, providing space and support to a new generation of artists.
