She graduated with a BA in Art History from the American University in Paris and received a Master’s Degree in the History of the Decorative Arts from the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York and spent two years at the J. Paul Getty Museum.As an academically trained art historian and a passionate advocate for contemporary art, design and artists, she has spent the past 25 years advising on art projects globally, collections and art placement. In addition to advising, she was the Art Editor for T: The New York Times Style Magazine and curated a monthly page called A Picture and A Poem.Gassmann’s extensive art world relationships reach around the globe including artists, collectors, art galleries, scholars, museums, foundations and the art and design press. Editorially, Gassmann is now a Contributing Editor and writer for AD USA, Elle Decor USA, Galerie Magazine, The World of Interiors, AD China, Vogue Arabia and Vogue Arabia Living, Frederic Magazine,and The Architect’s Newspaper.
