The first documented Labor Day Parade happened here at Union Square in 1882.Our tour will go over some of the anarchists, socialists, and “Wobblies” (members of the Industrial Workers of the World) and many other protests that happened here including women protesting for the right to vote, and labor rights, African-American workers, LGBTQ+ workers, disability rights seeking accessibility rights in the workplace and many other groups.
