You will also have an opportiunity to learn about Pratt's accelerated degree programs in graphic design, illustration and game design.Workshop OverviewThis three-hour workshop introduces graphic design through a hands-on project that starts with physical collage and moves into typography and poster design.We will begin with a short visual presentation looking at concept, collage, composition, figure/ground, scale, and typographic hierarchy. The presentation will be limited to approximately 15 minutes so that most of the workshop can focus on making work.The workshop will follow the creative process: RPRP — Research, Play, Refine, Present.Creative ProcessResearchThe opening presentation gives participants visual references and introduces the ideas you will use in the project: concept, collage, composition, figure/ground, scale, and typographic hierarchy.PlayParticipants make two different physical collage compositions using the same set of materials. This gives you a chance to experiment with cropping, scale, placement, overlap, positive and negative space, and different focal points.RefineParticipants compare the two compositions and select one. You will photograph it, bring it into InDesign, and develop it into a poster by working with typography, hierarchy, scale, spacing, and placement.PresentParticipants finish and export the poster, and we end by looking at the work together.-------FAQsWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
