About Fearless Foundation for the Arts
Fearless Foundation for the Arts is a South Asian institution of art and activism. We make space to move from fear to love through the co-creation of beauty in public spaces. Using participatory public art and storytelling, Fearless reclaims and occupies spaces with women
Founded by Indian artist Shilo Shiv Suleman in response to the powerful protests surrounding the “Nirbhaya” tragedy, we have been at the frontline of critical moments of resistance in South Asia. Since our first mural in 2012, Fearless has worked in over 20 countries, co-creating over 52 murals with communities. Fearless has instituted a program strategy that responds to contemporary feminist themes of gender & sexuality, climate justice, and peacebuilding through art.
We have presented our work at AWID as one of the youngest feminist groups to lead a plenary, at the Global Forum of Democracy, COP27, COP28 and the Climate Week in New York. Fearless’ work has been featured in National Geographic, United States Institute of Peace, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, BBC and Vice.
