The Roosvelt family were long standing members of the congregation. The historic sanctuary hosted the 1884 double funeral for Theodore's mother and first wife, as well as his son’s 1910 wedding.About the SpeakersMassee McKinley’s maternal ancestor is the 22nd and 24th U.S. President Grover Cleveland. McKinley is fond of and a consistent advocate for the 25 th U.S. President William McKinley, who is his 2nd Great Uncle.McKinley was the founding partner of Peerage Communications, LLC, an executive and political communications and public relations boutique consulting firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. He has written for the likes of Delta Airlines, The Coca-Cola Company, LVMH (Louis Vuitton), Burberry, Hermès and Ferragamo. McKinley has also written for three former United States House Speakers.Beginning June 1 st of this year, McKinley now serves at the Director of Marketing and Brand Engagement at Long Island University. McKinley is the Co-Founder, Vice President and Chief of Staff of The Society of Presidential Descendants (https://www.societyofpresidentialdescendants.org). In his current capacity with the National First Ladies Day Commission, he serves as Co-Chair of the Commission Board of Trustees (https://firstladiesday.org).McKinley is an avid historical autograph collector. His personal collection now includes every United States President. He is now working on obtaining all the autographs of the United States First Ladies.Winthrop Roosevelt is a communications strategist and public policy professional with over a decade of leadership experience at the intersection of government, advocacy, and higher education. He currently serves as the Director of Communications at Long Island University.Before joining LIU, Roosevelt served as Director of Communications for the Manhattan Borough President and the New York City Council. Roosevelt holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Public Policy with a concentration in Economic Development from Northeastern University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Public Policy and Political Science from Hobart College. Born and raised in Boston, Winthrop is the great-great-grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt.Titckets include entry to the Empire State Rare Book Fair, which will bring over 15 rare book, print and ephemera exhibitors from across the world to Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York. Visitors can browse books, prints and ephemera on a broad range of topics and areas.
