From courageous pioneers to visionary contemporary trailblazers, Dr. Shankar-Brown will illuminate the transformative work of LGBTQIA2S+ changemakers, educators, artists, poets, spiritual leaders, and activists who have shaped—and continue to shape—our shared history. This presentation will weave together historical narratives with current research, highlight urgent issues facing LGBTQIA2S+ communities today given the current socio-political landscape, and offer creative, actionable strategies for building more just, inclusive, and loving communities. Through stories, poetry, art, music, and collective wisdom, we will explore how resistance and solidarity fuel progress and reflect on why our commitment to action, advocacy, and hope is more vital now than ever before!
