Germs - STEAM Workshop

Let’s discover how soap helps keep us healthy! In this experiment, we will use pepper to act like pretend germs floating on the surface of water. When we touch the water without soap, nothing happens — just like when we don’t wash our hands properly, germs can stay on our skin.

Then comes the magic! When we dip a soapy finger into the water, the “germs” spread away quickly. This happens because soap breaks apart the oils and dirt where real germs like to stick. The soap pushes the pepper particles away, showing us how washing with soap helps germs slide off our hands and keeps us clean.
