This weekend, artists Jennifer Halli and Felicity Steel invite the community to take part in a unique, interactive artwork celebrating our connection to Taranaki Maunga. Set here, in the lush surroundings of Pukeiti. Reta Aroha ki te Mounga is a collective act of reflection, creativity and aroha.

Starting from 10am, visitors will be invited to share their thoughts, words or feelings about the maunga. Using large paintbrushes, the artists will transcribe these messages onto a 70-metre-long roll of paper, gradually unfolding it as the day goes on, creating one of the longest love letters ever written to the mountain.

Each contribution is kept to around 20 words, giving everyone the chance to take part. The result is a living artwork shaped by the voices of the community and the landscape itself.
