Come along to the Aquatic Centre in New Plymouth to learn how to snorkel. Find out about what animals live in our moana with our 'artificial reef'! (artificial reef = Images of local marine species weighed down on the pool floor). Ages 6yrs+, no experience required.
Cost: Normal pool entry fee; snorkel session is FREE with optional koha to EMR Taranaki.
Meet us at the registration station at the outdoor pool - 10 minutes before your session - to confirm your online registration. If you register and can no longer make it, please email me so I can make the place available to someone else.
Gear: We provide snorkels, masks and fins with the guidance of a volunteer snorkel guide (gear may not be used unsupervised), just bring your togs and towel! (please bring your own wetsuits if you think you/your child will get cold)
Note: Normal pool rules apply - children must be supervised by their parent/guardian at all times.
Hosted by Experiencing Marine Reserves Taranaki and the Ngā Motu Marine Reserve Society.
Big thanks to our supporters, sponsors and volunteers who make this day possible including; Toi Foundation, New Plymouth District Council, Todd Energy Aquatic Centre staff, Wild for Taranaki, DOC Taranaki, port Taranaki, Experiencing Marine Reserves and Ngā Motu Marine Reserve Society.
