- **Event Name**: Pictures at the Intersection of Photography & Collage: Curator Talk & Tour
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 14 Dec, 2025 at 11:00 am – Sun, 14 Dec, 2025 at 12:30 pm
- **Event Description**: Join Curator Ric Kasini Kadour for this exhibition at the intersection of photography and collage.About this EventThe intersection of collage and photography is not like a simple crossroads where two streets meet," wrote exhibition curator and Kolaj Institute Director Ric Kasini Kadour, "It's more like a round-about where many paths come together before shooting off in different directions. The deeper one gets into this inquiry, the more road metaphors fail. It may be more helpful to think of the intersection of collage and photography as neuropathways or mycelium." Throughout 2024 and 2025, Kolaj Institute hosted virtual residencies during which artists made work at the intersection of photography and collage. Each June, New Orleans Photo Alliance Gallery hosted exhibitions as part of Kolaj Fest New Orleans and, in December 2024, Kolaj Institute presented "Camera & Collage" at its gallery in New Orleans. These activities along with that of a number of solo artists in residence and articles in the magazine have given us many points of reference to view and think about the intersection. In December 2025, Kolaj Institute presents the exhibition, "Pictures at the Intersection of Photography & Collage" at its gallery in New Orleans and publish a similarly titled book in 2026. Join Ric Kasini Kadour for an Exhibition Tour and Curator Talk on Sunday, 14 December 2025 at 11AM at Kolaj Institute Gallery. This exhibition and talk is presented in conjuction with PhotoNOLA 2025.The exhibition runs from 10 December 2025 to 24 January 2026.NOTE: This event is in-person only and will be neither live streamed nor recorded.ABOUT KOLAJ INSTITUTE GALLERYThe mission of Kolaj Institute is to support artists, curators, and writers who seek to study, document, and disseminate ideas that deepen our understanding of collage as a medium, a genre, a community, and a 21st century movement. We operate a number of initiatives meant to bring together community, investigate critical issues, and raise collage’s standing in the art world. Kolaj Institute’s Gallery in New Orleans presents exhibitions and connects Kolaj Institute and the artists we work with to the vibrant St. Claude Arts District. We produce 8-10 exhibitions a year and participate in Second Saturday, the neighborhood’s monthly art walk, putting the collage art, books and exhibitions in front of New Orleanians and visitors.
